SL2 OSTRICH EGG WITH STAND
  • A beautiful handcrafted decoupage ostrich egg that has the image of the "Big Five Animals of Africa" placed all around the egg. The big five are comprised of the Leopard, Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, and the Lion.

    This ostrich egg is handcrafted to the highest of quality and is an "original" work of art, individually handcrafted; no two are exactly alike which adds to the value of each egg.

    The practice of decorating ostrich eggs dates back centuries, and originated with the San or Bushmen who live in desert regions. For them the egg symbolizes life, not just because an egg is a sign of fertility, but because the eggs were used as vessels to carry and store water, which in itself is life sustaining but when in a desert region critical.
